We redesigned the user experience of GE Healthcare’s Athlete Management System for the 2018 Winter Olympics, enabling medical professionals to efficiently access and manage athlete health records across multiple languages and care environments without technical assistance.

Challenge
International Olympic Committee approached GE Healthcare to provide an easy solution to manage the medical data of the athletes in the 2018 South Korea Winter Olympic games. Different medical practitioners (i.e. local EMT, Olympic Village general doctors, team doctors) need different patient (athlete) data, however the existing desktop solutions require additional assistance.
Solution
MONDRIAAN performed a complex workflow audit, simplified and redesigned the UX, prototype new interactions. The hypotheses were validated involving medical professionals from different countries. Based on the findings, a new user experience was delivered for desktop and tablet as well.
The new Athlete Management Solution (AMS) enabled practitioners to access and register patient records easily in multiple languages without the need of any technical operators.
Results
Enabled medical staff at the 2018 Winter Olympics to efficiently access, manage, and register athlete health records across multiple locations and languages without additional technical support.
