Current by GE has been constantly aiming to renew its long-standing lightbulb production branch. As part of the smart lightbulb portfolio business, Current by GE wished to find a more effective way to set up new lighting installations before handing over real estate projects to clients. MONDRIAAN replaced the conventional, skilled labour-intensive setup processes by easy-to-use handheld applications, which dramatically reduced costs related to commissioning works. Nevertheless, the main innovation was not embodied into this process redesign, but in the change of value proposition.

Results

Using the applications, the company has the possibility to offer previously not seen services including energy consumption monitoring, alerting, predictive maintenance, thus having direct connection to the estate caretaker. With the solution MONDRIAAN helped GE to move towards becoming a service provider, building on new business models and improved consumer experiences.
